Halloween fun at Cartwheels and Coffee

The girls and I visited Cartwheels and Coffee this morning for some great play time. Sarala dressed up as a ballerina (with her hair up like Cinderella, her specifications) and Kaelyn wore her lion costume. Since they were dressed up they played for half price, and I got to relax, and the house didn't get trashed. I actually was able to sit and look at a magazine. At one point Sarala locked herself in the bathroom. I stayed very clam and tried to tell her how to unlock the door, but she got hysterical. I think it was more because she really needed to pee and couldn't get her leotard down without help. A nice gentleman unlocked the door with a coin before I could get a coin and unlock it myself. Thank goodness for nice people!

Oilcloth Lunch-Bag

I have had some oilcloth sitting around just waiting to be made into a lunch-bag. Today while at church Logan had a lunch bag that I really liked the design of, so I looked it over and came home and made one for myself. The best part is that a sandwich size zip-lock container fits flat on the bottom.

Fall Picture Time

Fall = changing leaves= great picture background. I really don't want to miss the beautiful backgrounds that fall provides, so the girls and I ventured back to the Japanese gardens at Maymont this morning. It was a little chilly, but I was afraid it would only get colder and more difficult to get the pictures. Overall, the girls were pretty cooperative, but the leaves hadn't changed all that much yet.

Maymont

What a peaceful Sunday afternoon we had. Naps followed by a walk to Maymont and homemade vegetable soup for dinner. Of course the camera accompanied us, so here are some favorites that I would like to share.

Sarala taking a break from walking all the way down the hill to the Japanese Gardens.

Kaelyn sitting on top of her own hill.

Sarala and Kyle watching the fish. We never knew that they had so many!

Longies!

Last post for today. I just made Kaelyn this cute pair of fleece longies. She is going to wear them with the pumpkin shirt I made her. They look pretty cute on, and only took about 30 minutes to make!

Domestic Goddess??

Hmm, doesn't the title say it all. I guess it doesn't say that I am referring to myself. I can brag a little every once in a while, right? If I were to describe myself today I would say I was a sewing, cleaning, cooking momma.

Wow, just this morning I have set out dinner, finished washing diapers, cleaned part of mine and Kaelyn's room, put away clean clothes, unpacked from last weekend (finally), completed a short art activity with the girls, fixed lunch, started more laundry, changed Sarala's bed, and made an apple crisp (I wish you could smell my house right now!) And the best part is I have already showered and fixed my hair. Now, who is going to argue that I am a "domestic goddess"?

I have actually been pretty productive this week. I finished 11 banners for Kelly and I even had time to start some sewing projects of my own. I am working on a card table tent for Christmas presents and that project is turning out better than I expected. I also made a mei tai yesterday (it's a type of baby carrier).

It is cute, but I may have to alter it to make it fit right. Kaelyn did not enjoy me trying to wear her in it. I have been gathering supplies for upcoming projects. Here's a list of what you will hopefully be seeing from me in the near future:

Table Tent
Oilcloth Lunch bag
Art Bags
Purse
Chalkboard Placemats

Enough bragging for now. I hope that you are feeling productive today!

One last picture- I harvested what will probably be the last of the peppers from our "garden". There were tons, I haven't been able to use them fast enough. They are now in the freezer waiting to make some yummy salsa or guacamole! That is also my first radish, which wasn't quite ready to be harvested. It was potent.

Fall is back!

After a few days of 80+ weather, it feels like fall again today. Earlier in the week we collected some fall leaves while on a walk. This morning we used those to create a leaf rubbing. It didn't show up really well, and honestly Sarala was more worried about watching Cinderella than rubbing leaves.

Kaelyn enjoyed chewing on the crayons.

Munchy Monday- Breakfast in Bed

It's Monday! This morning Sarala made breakfast for daddy and served it to him in bed. Daddy has the day off, and is headed off for a long day of studying for the PE.
