Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My!

It seems like it has been forever since I have posted. We spent this past weekend visiting family, and concluded with a trip to the National Zoo on Monday. It was amazing! I have been to the zoo numerous times, but have never had an experience like this. The animals were out and active, not just laying around. The pandas were walking around, a couple times very close to the barrier, and the lion shared his great roars with us (if you haven't heard that before it is really cool.)

Have you ever really thought about why a lion is related to the image of God? Fascination, with a sense of danger or fear. We literally couldn't take our eyes off of this creature. It's amazing roar, which seemed to come from it's very center. We knew the power that the lion had, and we were drawn to it. Can you imagine being a cub with a lion watching over you?
